Anna-Kejriwal finally decides to provide a
political alternative and, and Ramdev to support NDA! Before that, they were
against the entire political class. Before that, they pledged to fight
government until death for Lokpal and black money. Now Anna says no to
politics, kejriwal to stick to his plan to form a political party. Some time they
come together, sometime they go their ways separately. They keep changing their
priorities, methodologies and objectives. Are they confused? If so, why?
Leaders like Anna and Ramdev are by no means
traitor or dishonest, but at times they seem to be at the crossroad. They want
to do something exceptionally good for the nation. Probably they are not sure
what to do. They are of the view that nothing has happened after independence,
and the country has worsened since then. They are so carried away by the
feeling of being patriotic that they conveniently ignore every single
development all through those years! It reflects their state of mind. If there
is a real threat in the country like war or natural calamity, they may work
shoulder to shoulder with politicians or anyone for that matter. But under
perceived threat, they feel threatened and frightened, intense enough to make
others also to feel threatened and frightened. They start doubting democracy
and citizen’s rights. Under such a situation, they look into history, to find
what was successful there if not democracy. Indian Freedom Struggle is the
immediately preceding event and most successful event in recent times. They
revert to that phase. They try to imitate that with all the look alkies such as
second freedom struggle, sampurna kranty, dusra Gandhi, Anna topi, satyagraha
and so on. They try to fight an all out battle. In the given state of reversal,
they fail to recognize that unlike the British, now we have a government
elected by the people. They try to catch the enemy, which is only a perceived
threat, an illusion, mirage. They always run behind a mysterious remedy like musk
deer that run behind its own fragrance, sometime sit for dharana, protest or things
like that. But the mysterious remedy is already with them. It is ‘vote’. They need
to use judiciously.
However, there is no need to worry too much.
They are under transition, a temporary phage of confusion. Fortunately many-many
people in the country are not confused! They have already come out of the
transition. For instance, those movements are on the high pitch for more than a
year now. There have been elections in many states in the mean time. The people
who listened to Anna/Ramdev, followed them, shouted with them, when it came to
voting they voted not the way Anna/Ramdev asked, but the way best suited them. In
2014 also people will elect a better government not necessarily the way
Anna/Ramdev want.
